About PA Humanities
The mission of PA Humanities is to champion the humanities as a means to spark civic engagement, build community, educate, inspire, and make long-lasting change. The organization imagines a future where all Pennsylvania residents have access without barriers to the humanities and understand the tools to lead change in their communities.
About the Opportunity
As part of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, PA Humanities and other state and regional humanities councils distributed funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities’ SHARP (Sustaining the Humanities through the American Rescue Plan) program. For PA Humanities, this was an opportunity to reimagine, reinvent, and re-envision humanities work by supporting creative non-profits through planning, capacity building, and creative programming. In addition to grant funding, PA Humanities is building a community of practice dubbed the PA SHARP Learning Network to foster networking, connection, support and learning among 92 PA SHARP grantees.
PA Humanities is seeking an evaluator to help assess the immediate impacts of the learning network, its place in supporting state-wide humanities practitioners and organizations, and the cultivation of an ongoing learning network. The evaluator would work with the PA Humanities staff and grantees to refine evaluation goals and exploratory questions, identify collection methods, conduct field research, and document and share results. Ideal candidates should have experience in evaluating learning networks and/or communities of practice, conducting relevant field research, and leading collaborative and participatory processes.
Proposals are due March 21, 2022.
