About Us

Supporting Diverse Evaluators and Funders of Evaluation

Providing value, practice, and promoting a culturally responsive and equitable evaluation ecosystem.

THE VISION FOR ETB

Power is distributed equitably amongst Evaluators, community members, and Funders of Evaluation to lead change toward justice.

Cohort 3 Evaluators chatting.

Why

Because the evaluation field does not traditionally include the perspectives and voices of diverse communities who have been historically excluded and oppressed, Expanding the Bench® (ETB) is strengthening, diversifying, and increasing access to racially and ethnically diverse Evaluators who have been historically and/or are presently underrepresented or marginalized in the U.S. who practice culturally responsive and equitable evaluation (CREE).

What

ETB is based on the belief that three things have to happen to create a culturally responsive and equitable evaluation ecosystem. There needs to be more Evaluators who bring lived experience with marginalization and oppression, practice CREE, and a field that is ready to dismantle racist policies, practices, and programs and intentionally seeks CREE-focused Evaluators from diverse backgrounds.
