Community Research for Liberation National Convening

By: Research in Action

Event Date: 06/11/26

The Community Research for Liberation National Convening brings together community members, researchers, and practitioners to center community-driven and participatory action research as a tool for advancing policy change, resource redistribution, and narrative shift. With the theme “Building a New Table with Black Women, Girls and Femmes,” the convening will highlight how community research efforts are often overshadowed by institutional processes that can be inaccessible, extractive, or disconnected from those most impacted by injustice. This convening creates space for learning, connection, and co-creation across sectors, with impacted communities at the center of the work. Attendees can expect tools and training in liberatory research design, healing-centered engagement, and accountable partnerships, alongside real-world examples of community-based practices that are already driving change.
