The Australian Evaluation Society’s 2026 International Evaluation Conference invites evaluators, researchers, and practitioners to engage with the theme “Making space, valuing place,” which centers the diverse perspectives and contexts that shape how evaluation is approached and used. The conference will create space for multiple disciplines, methodologies, and worldviews, while valuing place by honoring Indigenous values and amplifying voices from across Australia, the Asia Pacific, and beyond. Sessions will examine key areas including ethics and integrity, the role of power and inclusion in evaluation, opportunities for collaboration across disciplines, and how evaluators can remain grounded while navigating new pathways for impact. The conference offers a space for shared learning, critical reflection, and connection across a broad evaluation ecosystem that includes community leaders, funders, policymakers, and people with lived experience.
