Part 2 Remembering Who We Are: Afrocentric Evaluation, Memory, and Field-Building

By: Delmore Daye Learning Institute

Event Date: 04/29/26

This session is a continuation of a conversation first held on February 17, 2025, continuing a deep exploration of Afrocentric evaluation as a tool for remembering, restoring, and reimagining. The session will examine how Afrocentric evaluation serves as a tool for memory and healing, the role of storytelling in building field infrastructure and generational healing, and how we create containers of care that allow for truth telling without retraumatization. It will also explore the power of cultural context in professional evaluation spaces, bringing together perspectives from across the diaspora to advance culturally responsive and community engaged evaluation practices.
