Position Description

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations is seeking an Evaluation Specialist to support the evaluation of the GEF 7 Common Oceans Program and its related projects focused on sustainable fisheries, marine biodiversity conservation, ocean governance, and sustainable marine resource management. Working under the Office of Evaluation, specialists will contribute to evaluation design, theories of change, inception reports, and data collection instruments while conducting interviews, consultations, field visits, and technical assessments. The Evaluation Specialist will analyze qualitative and quantitative evidence, assess program coherence, integration, results, and monitoring and evaluation arrangements, and develop findings, conclusions, and recommendations. Selected consultants will also contribute to evaluation reports, country studies, technical notes, stakeholder validation processes, and the dissemination of evaluation findings to strengthen accountability, organizational learning, and program improvement.
