Position Description
The National Geographic Society is seeking a Museum Evaluation Manager to lead comprehensive assessment and research efforts that measure the impact and effectiveness of the new National Geographic Museum of Exploration, opening as part of the organization’s Base Camp campus renovation in 2026. As part of the Strategic Insights and Initiatives team, the manager will design and implement evaluation frameworks for exhibitions and events, develop visitor and attendee feedback systems, and conduct mixed-methods studies including surveys, interviews, focus groups, observational research, and longitudinal assessments. The role includes analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, producing actionable evaluation reports and visualizations, and communicating insights to museum stakeholders and National Geographic leadership. The manager will also train museum staff in evaluation concepts, collaborate across campus and program teams, and help integrate evaluation practices into daily operations.
