Position Description

American Institutes for Research (AIR)’s Health Division is seeking a visionary Managing Director for its Health Division to provide intellectual leadership and expertise in health policy, health economics, and program evaluation. The Managing Director will serve as a thought leader across health policy topics, guiding strategy to grow new work with federal, state, and foundation clients while ensuring the high-quality implementation of research and evaluation studies. This role includes leading and mentoring project directors and researchers, building and maintaining funder and partner relationships, and developing innovative business opportunities aligned with AIR’s mission. The Managing Director will also contribute to AIR’s visibility through publications, presentations, and engagement with key stakeholders, fostering an inclusive environment that values diverse perspectives and advances evidence-based solutions to improve health outcomes.
