Opportunity Description

The Community Forests International and Community Forests Pemba seek an independent evaluation partner to conduct a longitudinal impact and learning review of 17 years of community-led climate resilience work in Zanzibar. The evaluation will assess the organization’s evolution from grassroots tree planting on Pemba Island to large-scale agroforestry, social enterprise development, gender-transformative climate action under the ZanzAdapt initiative, and its planned transition toward trade readiness and ethical market integration. The review will validate long-term impact on climate resilience, poverty reduction, women’s empowerment, and nature-based livelihoods across Pemba and Unguja Islands, explicitly accounting for their differing implementation timelines.
