Using Logic Models, Program Theory, Research and ChatGPT to Design and Evaluate Programs
Training Signup Due Date: 07/13/25
Name of Agency or Organization: The Evaluators' Institute
Opportunity Description
Logic models, program theories, prior research, and tools like ChatGPT are now widely used in evaluation practice. When applied thoughtfully, they can support effective program design, provide conceptual clarity, motivate teams, and guide evidence-based evaluation. However, these tools are not always used effectively. If misapplied, they can misrepresent a program, take time away from more critical evaluation activities, or discourage important inquiry into causal pathways and unintended outcomes. This course focuses on how to build useful, evidence-based logic models and program theories. Participants will learn how to apply these tools to strengthen evaluation practice while avoiding common pitfalls that limit their effectiveness.
