Screening Questions

These preliminary questions are used to determine if you meet the eligibility requirements to be a LEEAD Scholar. We are seeking applicants with 3-5 years of experience in research or evaluation in criminal justice, psychology, public policy, public health, mental health, sociology, economics, social work, or related fields, with at least three years of applied program evaluation experience after graduation. Because of ETB’s mission to disrupt the current state of the evaluation field, which has suppressed the perspectives and voices of marginalized evaluators, ETB encourages applicants from Indigenous and racially/ethnically diverse communities who have been and/or are presently marginalized in the United States. In your view, in what ways are diversity, equity, and inclusion important in the field of evaluation?*

LEEAD is a unique program that combines an online curriculum with mentoring, cohort learning, and a practicum experience. Please describe your experience with similar programs and how you plan to ensure your success in a virtual training and cohort learning experience.*

As part of the LEEAD Scholar experience, you will have an opportunity to partner with diverse organizations to support their capacity for embedding CREE into their work. These partnerships often require adaptability and self-direction. Please describe a specific evaluation project you've led or contributed to where you had limited oversight or direction. How did you navigate ambiguity, identify what needed to be done, and move the work forward? What strategies did you use to maintain alignment with the organization's needs while working independently? What challenges did you encounter and how did you address them?*

How do you plan to accommodate these LEEAD requirements (approximately 6-8 hours/week for curriculum, 60-80 hour practicum project) into your existing work/life commitments?*

How do you foresee the relevance of the LEEAD Program, particularly the focus on culturally responsive and equitable evaluation (CREE)*, in your current and future work or career aspirations?*

*Culturally responsive and equitable evaluation (CREE) requires the integration of diversity, inclusion, and equity in all phases of evaluation. CREE incorporates cultural, structural, and contextual factors (e.g. historical, social, economic, racial, ethnic, gender) using a participatory process that shifts power to individuals most impacted. CREE is not just one method of evaluation, it is an approach that should be infused into all evaluation methodologies. CREE advances equity by informing strategy, program improvement, decision-making, policy formation, and change.
